New Base Customizable Model Testing


Recently I started working with a very experienced 3D Generalist, he is helping me producing a highly customizable 3D model that I will be using on both, TVS and LD.On the video you can see Im just randomly dialing up every single customization, that is why it is turning into a monster. This is only to test performance.The goals of this are:

  • Character Customization: This model contains around 250 customization options. On TVS I will let the players create their own custom hero and the same in LD.
  • Asset reusability: With this model as the single base figure, I will be able to swap any clothing and accessory from different characters, so it will be possible to mix and match costumes.
  • Memory and Disk optimization: With a single model loaded on memory the performance will be improved, same for the size of the game on the disk.
  • Improve new character delivery time: Once this is configured once, creating a new character is only matter of adding the clothing and textures, I will waste no more time configuring all the mechanics and script on this model.
  • Improve limb bending: Currently there are a few issues when extreme bending the characters, the 3D generalist is working to address those.

This is work in progress and we have to improve more things, I will keep you updated on this development and I'm looking forward to use it on our Games.
